What makes the need to belong such a driving force within us? And what is it that we feel we need to belong to? In the past I felt that need, that driving urge to “belong.” Only after years of trying did I find that I couldn’t belong because it was against my very reason for living to belong to something so dark. Many have asked me, Why do you believe it is dark? Darkness can only reign where there is no light. The “church” today would argue that they preach the Gospel, they preach the Bible, but what about the truth? Do they preach the truth? Or do they skirt around the truth with feel-good meetings and programs to satisfy the need to belong? Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIFE. He is the LIGHT of the world. So many think that having a form of godliness is enough. We must not just have a form of godliness but we must acknowledge the power thereof. God does not require lip-service, He requires relationship, intimate fellowship with Him and His Word. There cannot be fellowship with God in darkness and half-truths. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump, the little bits of darkness will permeate and spoil the whole church. Truth is absolute. Jesus is absolute Truth. We cannot embrace the portions of the Truth that make us comfortable and ignore the rest. We must embrace all of the Truth or none of it is in us.
On Spiritual Leadership

Throughout the generations, many Christian Leaders have come to the point where humility is considered more a function than that holy place of humility before God. Servanthood is at best defined as doing what we can to help our fellowman. I am not saying that helping is bad, what I am saying is that God does not require us to merely help, He requires us to serve.

We must serve from that place before God in humble relationship with Him, moved by His tender mercies. Is this not the life of our Lord Jesus Christ? Every chance He got He set Himself apart and humbly came before His Father; not just asking what must I do but being filled from on high with power to do what had to be done. In scripture, Jesus the master of all became the servant of all. Dare I ask: How did He do that? Just as Moses, Isaiah, David, Paul and many others, He did NOT do it! God did it! Yes, God did it by helping them to see one simple truth. They were but a vessel, albeit a holy vessel, that was set apart unto God. A vessel that would in humble relationship with Him and in willingness to die unto themselves and unto this world; He sent His Word to them and worked It in them, then He poured It through them. As Jesus said, "If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.(John 10:37-38)

We have come to the point that we look at “What needs to be done”, then set ourselves to do it. What truly needs to happen is we need to be going into that place, that humble relationship we have with God and humbly seek what He wants us to do. After all my brethren, hasn’t He already done all that needed to be done to fulfill His Word? Jesus, that suffering servant, was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. Was it not the Hand of God that upheld Him? God in His Mercy has allowed us to try, and fail, that in so doing we might come to the end of ourselves and humbly seek to be filled by God with the will and the way to fulfill the work He has set our hand to. We are called to be servants beloved, not to be served.

Twenty five years ago as I sought the Lord in prayer and fasting, I was given this revelation; ministry (by the definition of the word) is servanthood. Since then every scripture I read draws me into that holy place of humility before God where I am able to be the least amongst you, the carpet one can stand on to get one half an inch closer to Jesus Christ. Ministry is not about numbers, it is not about the results we can make manifest with our programs and strategies. Ministry is about humble servanthood to our God and King; then watching Him send His power and His plan to us, to then work it in us so that He and He alone would pour it through us. When He has thus done, the world will truly know that Jesus Christ is Lord!

Apostles: Ordained of God or Ordained of Men?

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,
and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (Ephesians 1:15-23)

The most interesting statement in this scripture is regarding Paul’s apostleship. It was not of men, why does the “church” today believe they can “ordain” or give to another the apostleship? It is plainly stated that this can only come from Jesus Christ and God the Father in whom all power and dominion dwell. So many times I hear people of God saying that they don’t see how God could use them or teach anything through them but in light of this scripture I see that the only way any calling manifests is by Jesus Christ and God the Father. So today I encourage you to ask the Lord of your calling and be led by Him to the hope of His Calling. Prepared to do and will to be done all that is necessary for the fulfillment of that calling in Christ Jesus.

More on the Truth

“O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us:
and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.
Praise ye the LORD.(Psalm 117:1-2)

In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah;
We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation
which keepeth the truth may enter in.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the
LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: (Isaiah 26:1-4)

"Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears,
that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men;
that I might leave my people, and go from them!
for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies:
but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth;
for they proceed from evil to evil,
and they know not me, saith the LORD.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother:
for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth:
they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD."
(Jeremiah 9:1-6)

These are the things that ye shall do;
Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour;
and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD. (Zechariah 8:16-17)

What makes the need to belong such a driving force within us? And what is it that we feel we need to belong to? In the past I felt that need, that driving urge to “belong”. Only after years of trying did I find that I couldn’t belong because it was against my very reason for living to belong to something so dark.

Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. He is the LIGHT of the world. So many think that having a form of godliness is enough--We must not just have a form of godliness but we must acknowledge the power thereof. God does not require lip-service,

He requires relationship, intimate fellowship with Him and His Word. That’s right, all or nothing.

The Works of Men

“If thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.” (Exodus 20:25)

God’s altar was to be built of unhewn stones, that no trace of human skill or labor might be seen upon it. Human wisdom delights to trim and arrange the doctrines of the cross into a system more artificial and more congenial with the depraved tastes of fallen nature; instead, however, of improving the gospel with carnal wisdom pollutes it, until it becomes another gospel, and not the truth of God at all. All alterations and amendments of the Lord’s own Word are defilements and pollutions.

The proud heart of man is very anxious to have a hand in the justification of the soul before God; preparations for Christ are dreamed of, humblings and repentings are trusted in, good works are cried up, natural ability is much vaunted, and by all means the attempt is made to lift up human tools upon the divine altar. It was well if sinners would remember that so far from perfecting the Saviour’s work, their carnal confidences only pollute and dishonour it.

The Lord alone must be exalted in the work of atonement, and not a single mark of man’s chisel or hammer will be endured. There is an inherent blasphemy in seeking to add to what Christ Jesus in His dying moments declared to be finished, or to improve that in which the Lord Jehovah finds perfect satisfaction. Trembling sinner, away with thy tools, and fall upon thy knees in humble supplication; and accept the Lord Jesus to be the altar of thine atonement, and rest in him alone.

Many professors of the Word may take warning from this morning’s text as to the doctrines which they believe. There is among Christians far too much inclination to square and reconcile the truths of revelation; this is a form of irreverence and unbelief, let us strive against it, and receive truth as we find it; rejoicing that the doctrines of the Word are unhewn stones, and so are all the more fit to build an altar for the Lord.

Knowing the Truth

Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a king then?
Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born,
and for this cause came I into the world,
that I should bear witness unto the truth.
Every one that is of the truth heareth My voice. (John 18:37)

Today we are so inundated with things to do, things to hear or see, it is almost impossible to rightly divide the good from the bad. We have pushed technology to the point that the information flow is 1000 times greater today than just 10 years ago. What has this massive information flow done to our perceptions of reality and truth? It seems that we are given opportunity on a moment to moment basis to decide what is truth vs. what is lie. The church has for centuries declared it was the bearer of truth, but it has also been the bearer of falsehood, greed, traditions of men, denominations, dispensational theology and doctrines of devils. What does the Lord require of us in the midst of this chaos?

We are to walk in the Spirit so we will not fulfill the lusts of our flesh. Jesus told us that He would not leave us comfortless, that he would send unto us another comforter,

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of Me. (John 15:26)
It is important for us to recognize the simplicity of these promises. The Father is where the Comforter comes from, He is the Spirit of truth. Jesus’ statement to Pilate was that those that are of the truth would hear His voice. Are we of the truth?

Walking in the Spirit

I beseech you dearly beloved that you walk not in the flesh but walk ye in the spirit, For if you walk in the flesh you will mind the things of the flesh. So walk ye in the spirit that you might mind the things of the spirit. Walk as He walked, in the whole Word of God.

To know what the unity in the spirit looks like we must merely look at our hands. Notice there are 5 members fitly bound together and by their very nature they MUST work side by side. Tied together in God's glorious purpose to reach out and touch, to grasp and hold on, to push away, lift up and warn etc. Each member has a specific function determined by the Creator. Can your fingers do as they each will or are they made to work together?

We too beloved must die to our own thoughts and cares and live unto that glorious purpose our God has made us for.... To be His hands in this world, reaching out, lifting up and touching with the anointing of the Holy One of Israel to bring forth the love of God as one whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Eph. 4:16) As we die to ourselves and learn to truly walk in love we will be able to walk in the unity of the spirit as we will be that one body.

Let us all learn to stand side by side in Christ Jesus our Lord and let our purpose be holy and trust that we will work as God has fashioned us to work.......As one.

There is no God but Yahweh and Yeshua is His Son!
